River Drake A fortnight ago, I rode across the verdant dam above the village of Yhtua, like so many springs before, each time not knowing what it was I truly tread upon. On my return I was stunned, for where the dam once stood was now but a murky channel, and of the quaint town, only shattered walls remained amongst a flooded stinking field of flotsam. As I stared in disbelief, my horse cantered nervously, and I turned to face what had erased humble Yhtua – the jagged, spine-crowned head of a sinuous beast arising from the channel. This handsome but burly drinking glass was made in honor of a famed local hero of times past, one Dieter Neunhauser of Landshut, a commoner who distinguished himself in the brutal War of Cantons by discovering that he held the hidden talent of battle rage like the savage berserkers of old. After the war Dieter was presented with a valuable glass stein by the town brew master for saving his two sons, the sides emblazoned with the family crest, a rampant bear protecting the town walls. Bag on a StickThis is one of the simplest yet most effective trick/traps I've ever used in my games. It can be dynamic and very effective if used by a creative game master. A band of humanoids seen as non threatening, such as kobolds or goblins,or a city gang of thieves, can be made to seem very mysterious, cunning and deadly to jaded players caught unawares (that's your job as GM anyway.) This might be the work of a "planner" (almost like an infamous terrorist) who works amongst several tribes. Suddenly,WerewolvesThis encounter will work in any busy public place, but I've found that it works best in a tavern. This establishment can be completely isolated, such as a way station in the wilderness (especially during bad weather, ala The Thing), or just as easily be in a large city with numerous tall buildings, crowded lanes and dark alleys. I've always found that it works best in a city, since urban areas tend to restrict weapons and armor inside city walls, and the population density increasing the chance for panic and an alarming pandemic of lycanthropy. What is Mists-of-Ravenloft Group?

Ravenloft is a Dungeons & Dragons campaign set, published in 1990, created by Bruce Nesmith and Andria Hayday. While most of the campaign sets (scenarios) of D&D were based in classic medieval fantasy (mostly Tolkien), filled with magic itens and powerful heroes, Ravenloft got a more adult and dark taste, with tragic villains, dark landscapes and hidden dangers.

With dozens of novels, books, adventures and source material published since them, this scenario had grown enormous, with medieval and renaissance versions of almost all horror characters from pop culture, from Dracula and Jack the Ripper to Jason and Aliens.

The group Mists-of-Ravenloft was created not only to promote art inspired by this campaign setting, but also to show the fans of this scenario some good images that can be used as inspiration for campaigns, characters, villains, monsters and situations in game.

All gothic, macabre, horror and fantasy art is welcome, even more if it have the "feel" of Ravenloft, with misty places, hidden horrors and shadowy creatures.
